Just yesterday I had a client show me a picture of a Christmas gift label she found. She wanted me to mimic the design using the lime green chevron.

This week I plan on experimenting with the chevron design and holiday party invitations. I want to use less common colors associated with Christmas and the holidays.

I promised more Christmas party invitations, so here they are! Chloe was writing on a Yankee candle jar that I spray painted with chalkboard paint. She was writing Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas and I thought how cute would it be to have a holiday party card with a chalkboard background.

I went to work on indesign and used gradient effects to make the background look like chalkboard.

This invitation idea is great for New Years Eve parties, birthday parties and Christmas parties.

I finally sent our design online to Walmart.com. I'm a little disappointed in Walmart. First, when I was attempting to upload my jpg file, it kept giving me an error of a corrupt file. I knew my file wasn't corrupt, but at first I couldn't figure out why it kept giving me this error.

However, I decided to resize the file and tried uploading again to Walmart.com. My upload worked, but I wonder why it doesn't prompt you and say the file is too large, or what the file size should be. 

Also, when I received my photo, there was a massive smudge on the upper right hand corner. I had plans to cut that side of the photo anyway, but it was still annoying.

Anyway, aside from that, the design came out looking great. I should mention that I ended up changing the colors a bit before I sent it off to the printer. I wanted the card to match the color of the owl on the cup more.

After I trimmed the edges of my photo, Chloe and I began to wrap the owl coffee mug in the gift bag. Chloe decided to add a balloon to the gift bag..
